Caring for Your Sash Bag

To protect your Sash from stains and moisture, we recommend treating it with a protective product, especially if your lifestyle or climate calls for it. While it’s not required (many of us never treat ours), we suggest it as "wear and tear" isn't covered by our warranty. Plus, it keeps your Sash looking its best!

Different climates and usage vary, so decide what makes sense for you.

A few tips:

  • Exposure to sunlight can cause fading on leather (especially on brighter colors) and peeling on faux leather.
  • Be cautious when wearing untreated, light-colored bags over dark clothing, as rubbing may cause discoloration.
  • Damp conditions may cause faux leather finish to peel over time.

If you decide to treat your Leather Sash:

  • We recommend Leather Honey Leather Conditioner to keep leather soft and supple. For color touch-ups, mix with cream shoe polish. To darken genuine leather, try mineral oil. Always test on the underside of your strap first. Condition every 3 months for best results.

Tips for Faux Leather Care:

  • You may want to wipe with a damp cloth and mild soap, condition every 3–6 months, avoid heat, direct sun, and dampness. Store in a cool, dry place. Clean spills promptly and use a faux leather protective spray for added defense.

Cleaning Notes:

  • Leather: Use a soft cloth and a cleaner made for dyed leather. Always test on the underside of the strap first.
  • Faux Leather: Spot clean with cold water and mild soap. Avoid abrasive materials. Leather Honey Cleaner works well. Test before use.
  • Cloth: Spot clean with cold water and mild soap. Occasionally treat with fabric protector. Some cloth bags may be machine washed (at your own risk). Do not machine dry or dry clean.
